Ferdinand Man Arrested For Breaking Into Monastery

(FERDINAND) - Ferdinand police arrested a man after he broke into the Sisters of St. Benedict Monastery on East 10th Street.

Police arrested 25-year-old Kristofer M. Rosario-Hover of Ferdinand on charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication, burglary, criminal trespass and intimidation.

Police were called to the monastery Sunday at 8:12 p.m. where they found Rosario-Hover in an interior hallway and he was attempting to enter the front reception area.

Police confronted Rosario-Hover who was intoxicated and became aggressive with the officers. Officers were able to defuse the situation and arrested him when an officer deployed pepper spray.

Police says Rosario-Hoover's blood alcohol content tested at .249 percent.

Rosario-Hover was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication, burglary, criminal trespass and intimidation.

Dubois County Sheriff's Department and Memorial Hospital staff assisted with the incident.
