Celebrate Local Law Enforcement With Free Hug Movement

(MITCHELL) - The City of Mitchell is celebrating local law enforcement with a Free Hug Movement on Saturday.

The event will be held in Unity Park on West Frank Street.

The 5K will step off at 8 a.m. with registration beginning at 7 a.m.

All other event will begin at Noon including the Jail & Bail Fundraiser will feature a dunk tank with police officer from both Mitchell and Lawrence County inside.

There will be free hotdogs and door prizes while they last. There will be a bouncy house for the kids and vendor booths for parents to browse at the Mitchell Community Center. There will also be a silent auction.

Families can also visit with local police officer, Lifeline helicopter and local ambulance crews. Local firefighters will be there too and the fire engines.

All donations gathered during the event will go to both the Mitchell and Lawrence County Police Departments. Donations are being handled through Hoosier Uplands.
