Bedford City Council To Consider Lowering Speed Limit On Some City Streets

Last updated on Thursday, October 20, 2016

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford City Council will consider lowering the speed limit on Plaza Drive South from 16th Street to Patrick Robbins Way and on Patrick Robbins Way from State Road 37.

The recommendation comes from Bedford Police Department Chief Dennis Parsley who says the number of businesses and apartment complexes along the streets demand a lower speed limit.

Parsley told the Bedford Board of Works that the current speed limit of 30 miles per hour is unreasonable for the short streets and should be lowered to 25 miles per hour.

The Board of Works approved his request and now that recommendation will go before the Bedford City Council for consideration.
