Volunteers Needed To Help Transport Cancer Patients

(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services is looking for volunteers to help raise money to assist raise money to assist patients with food supplements, transportation to treatments or doctors’ appointments, medical supplies, wigs and medical equipment.

The nonprofit relies on support from the community to continue its good work.

Janet Huber, one of the dedicated volunteers who assists LCCPS, said the organization is seeking volunteers to drive patients to Indianapolis, Bloomington or Columbus.

"We have several wonderful people who drive, but lately, we've needed more drivers," she added.

The organization pays mileage for the drivers who volunteer. If you have time to assist the organization by driving cancer patients to appointments and treatments, call Teena Ligman at (812) 278-0139.

It's an easy way to volunteer and to make a difference in the lives of people who need it most.
