Last updated on Wednesday, September 14, 2016

(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Superior Court I Judge Michael Robbins has set the jury trial for accused murder Lincoln Pickett for September 11, 2017.

Pickett is accused of shooting and then burning the body of 29-year-old Kamie Ratcliff at his home at 3414 U.S. 50 West.

34-year-old Pickett is charged with murder; obstruction of justice, Level 6 felony; abuse of a corpse, Level 6 felony; two counts of false informing, Class A misdemeanors; and failure to report a dead body, Class A misdemeanor.

Judge Robbins says he is allowing three weeks for the jury trial. There are still three motions pending Judge Robbins ruling. One is a motion for bifurcation, which would allow the trial to be separated into two parts. The second is a motion to suppress evidence, and the third is a motion asking Judge Robbins to grant funding for expert witnesses.

The next pretrial conference is scheduled for January 10 at 1 p.m.
