School Board To Vote On Paperless Report Cards

Last updated on Tuesday, September 13, 2016

(BEDFORD) - Report cards for Bedford North Lawrence High School students could go paperless if the school board approves the request when considering it at the September 22 meeting.

The Times Mail reports that during Thursday's board meeting, Sarah Lee, curriculum director for the high school, provided board members with a list of benefits to making the change. The main benefit being parents could have access to their child's grades seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

According to Lee, parents would receive a letter telling them how to sign into the portal and that, in doing so, that "will tell the parents all of the homework assignments, tests and grades." The portal also would carry the history of a student's grades throughout his academic career.

But what if parents don't have internet access - Lee says parents can request a paper report card.
