(OOLITIC) - North Lawrence Community Schools is searching for a new principal at Dollens Elementary School.
On Monday,Sandy Scherschel will be leaving her administrative post to return to the classroom.
Scherschel, whose passion is teaching, will fill a math teacher's vacancy at Shawswick Middle School.
Scherschel became principal at Dollens with the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. A one-year contract extension was approved in January. She previously had served as an assistant principal at Bedford North Lawrence High School.
NLCS Superintendent Gary Conner says he is looking at options for coverage at Dollens to ensure that the staff and students are served, but will take his time finding the right person to fill the position.
