Last updated on Monday, September 12, 2016

(BEDFORD) - An Oolitic man was arrested early Saturday morning after police received a call about a suspicious vehicle running with its lights on in the parking lot of 8th and T streets.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called about the truck at 12:23 a.m.

"The caller reported the truck had been running for more than 30 minutes with its lights on," Chief Parsley added. "When our officers arrived they found the driver slumped over the console. It took them awhile to get him to wake up."

Once officers got the man awake, he couldn't tell police where he was or why he was there.

Inside the vehicle officer found several glass vials of meth, several different types of pills and glass smoking devices.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Cory Stinson on charges of public intoxication, possession of meth, possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
