(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County police are investigating a fatal accident this morning at North Jackson and Dive roads.
Officers were alerted to the crash at 1:31 a.m.
The name of the person killed has been identified as 36-year-old Shawn M. Brown of Seymour.
Police say the vehicle did have a Tennessee license play, but police are not sure what the relationship is between Brown and the owner of the vehicle.
Brown was wearing a seat belt but the airbag did not deploy.
A Seals ambulance, Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department, Bedford Fire Department extrication unit and a StatFlight medical helicopter were alerted.
Lawrence County coroner was contacted at 1:46 a.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
