Noon Lions To Celebrate Constitution Day With Area Middle Schoolers

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Noon Lions will be sponsoring their 2016 Constitution Day program for North Lawrence eighth grade students this week.

President of the North Lawrence School Board, Larry Arnold will speak at Oolitic Middle School at 2 p.m. on Wednesday student from St. Vincent de Paul will travel to Oolitic to attend the event.

State Representative Eric Koch will speak at Shawswick Middle School at 10 a.m., and Bedford Middle School at 11:15 a.m. on Friday.

The Noon Lions Club, who is sponsoring these events, will be handing out Constitution booklets to all of the eighth grade students.

Both speakers will have a question and answer session with students during the program.

September 17th is Constitution Day

On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the Constitution.

Government officials and the Bedford Noon Lions Club is encouraging all Americans to observe this important day in our nation's history.
