(MITCHELL) - A Bedford man was arrested after police say he broke into Mitchell Manor in June.

Police arrested 32-year-old Joseph Lagle of Mitchell Wednesday on a warrant for residential entry and criminal mischief by Bedford police.

According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, on June 11 at 5:26 a.m., a Mitchell Manor official requested a Mitchell Police officer to the building. Once there police found Lagel inside the building.

The staff told the officer that Lagle had asked for medication for his father, but his father did not live at the nursing home. The officer also noticed a door was bent at the bottom and glass was broken.

Police spoke to a Mitchell Manor employee and she said she heard an alarm sound to one of the secured doors to the nursing home. While looking for the origin of the alarm, she found Lagle who she says did not enter through the front door. The employee found damage to a service door and Lagle had admitted to her that he broke the door.

Another employee also heard an alarm and found Lagle standing outside the kitchen door. She asked what Lagle was doing and he told her he was looking for prescription medication for his father.

The employee told Lagle he should go to the hospital and pointed him in that direction. Shortly after, the employee found Lagle inside and he again asked for medication for his father.

Lagle was booked into the Lawrence County jail at 5:23 p.m. Wednesday. Lagle posted a $755 cash bond the same day.
