(NASHVILLE) - A 16-year-old Brown County girl was returned home Thursday night more than 18 hours after she was reported missing.

Rebekah McCoy was found hiding in a bedroom closet in a house on Hornettown Road with her boyfriend, 21-year-old Duran Morgan.

Morgan, of Nashville, was arrested on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and resisting law enforcement.

McCoy's parents reported her missing from her home on Upper Schooner Road at about 1 a.m. Sept. 1. They told Brown County sheriff's deputies that McCoy had been missing for several hours and had left her cellphone at home.

Morgan had been to the house earlier in the evening but left. When they checked her room later, they discovered she was not there.

Deputies checked several homes and locations in the county looking for Morgan, but were unable to find her issuing a plea to the public for assistance.

At about 6:40 p.m., the girl's mother, Pamela McCoy, contacted Deputy Josh Stargell and told him her daughter had called her, but blocked the incoming phone number and would not tell her mother where she was, but said she was on her way home.

According to a press released, a few hours later, Deputy Stargell learned from a telephone company the number the girl had called from and was able to link that number to a person who lived on Hornettown Road.

Deputies went to the home and found McCoy and Morgan hiding in a closet in a bedroom.

Juvenile probation officer Brenda Dewees is reviewing this case and will decide if any charges will be filed against Morgan.
