(LINTON) - A Linton man is facing preliminary charges of alleged intimidation and resisting law enforcement after he repeatedly called Linton Police.

According to a probable cause by Linton Police Department Officer Paul Clark, 32-year-old Anthony Lewis had repeatedly calling the police station, blaring loud music into the headset.

"I know from previous encounters that when Lewis becomes intoxicated, he calls the police station to harass the dispatcher until a law enforcement officer comes to his residence," Clark wrote.

Dispatch informed Clark about receiving a noise complaint on Lewis at 3:30 a.m., September 2.

"I approached Lewis and his music was blaring loudly, coming from a speaker beside him," Clark wrote. "I spoke with Lewis and stated he needed to turn his music down and to stop calling the police station with non-police matters. I explained to him that his nuisance calls might interfere with an actual emergency."

As Clark was returning to his vehicle, Lewis began to yell obscenities at him.

"I told Lewis to be quiet before he said something he would regret," Clark wrote.

Lewis then yelled he would be at Clark's house at the end of his shift, saying he was going to "yank that badge off his chest and beat his (obscenities), real talk."

"I exited my patrol car and told Lewis to stop, but he began to hurriedly move towards the door. I ordered Lewis to not go inside, but he retreated inside quickly," Clark wrote, noting he did not pursue Lewis into the home because he did not want to disturb Lewis's elderly grandparents, whom he lives with.

Clark informed Lewis through the door he was preparing criminal charges against him.
