Jasonville Police Department Hires First Female Officer

Last updated on Monday, September 19, 2016

(JASONVILLE) - The Jasonville Police Department has sworn in its first female police officer.

Annabelle Sutton was sworn in after recently completing her textbook and firearm training to be a reserve officer.

The Greene County Daily World reports, Sutton grew up in Worthington and is currently living in Linton.

JPD Chief Jim Gadberry says the department is excited to have her and sees nothing but good things in Sutton's future.

Sutton will be placed in reserve capacity. Reserve officers have the same expectations as full time officers and operate on a volunteer basis.
