'Duke Energy In Action' Volunteers Working On Milwaukee Trail Today

Last updated on Thursday, September 22, 2016

(BEDFORD) - Nearly 20 Duke Energy employees, along with other community members, will donate their time, talents and materials today beginning at 9 a.m. to tackle several spruce-up projects along the Milwaukee Trail.

These efforts are aimed at helping Bedford to prepare for the 2016 Limestone Capital Half Marathon on Saturday, Oct. 1.

This is part of the Duke Energy in Action program, which allows employees to give back to their communities by participating in organized volunteer events during work hours.

Volunteers will paint the 16th Street overpass and the State Road 37 overpass along the trail, as well as cleaning and sprucing up the Spider Creek lift station.
