Congressman Young To Host Service Academy Day For Hoosier Students

(SELLERSBURG) - Congressman Todd Young (R-IN) will host a Service Academy Day at Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg.

Prospective students in Indiana's 9th District are encouraged to attend to learn about each of the United States Service Academies and the nominations process. Representatives from each service academy will be available to answer questions.

Congressman Young and his staff will also be available to provide students information about the Congressional nominations process (receiving a Congressional or Senatorial nomination is required for admission into a U.S. service academy, though it does not guarantee admission).  

This event is open to the public. Families are welcome. Doors open at 8 a.m.  program begins at 8:45 a.m.  Any help you can provide in promoting this informational event for students is appreciated.

The deadline to apply for a nomination is October 14, 2016. Students should visit https://toddyoung.house.gov/service-academy-nominations/ to review all relevant information.  
 
Indiana's 9th District includes all or parts of  Brown, Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Johnson Lawrence, Monroe, Morgan, Orange, Scott, and Washington Counties in south central Indiana.
