(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer says 66-year-old Donald Gentry was beat to death.

According to an autopsy report by Forensic Pathologist Roland Kohr, 66-year-old Gentry suffered several blows to his face and head.

Meyer says there was not one blow - but multiple strikes - that caused Gentry's death, so many that an exact number of injuries could not be determined during the autopsy. Meyers did not know what object or weapons was used to cause the injuries.

Gentry's death has been ruled a homicide.

Gentry's body was found Monday in his mobile home at 4537 S. Old Ind. 37, south of Allen Funeral Home.

Memorial services for Gentry will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department has not released any information about the crime saying the case remains an open investigation.

But Bloomington Detective Lt. Shaw Karr says police are following up on leads and items have been sent to the state crime lab for testing.

Bloomington Police Department narcotics investigators are assisting the sheriff's office with the investigation.

Karr asks that anyone with any information about the case should call the sheriff's detectives at (812) 349-2727.
