(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after he was hit by a vehicle while walking on SandPit Road Saturday morning.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 20-year-old Nathaniel D. Wisniewski of Bedford was walking east along the south side of Sandpit Road and was attempting to cross County Complex Road when he was struck by a 2009 Ford F-150 driven by 28-year-old Austin Underwood of Bedford. The incident took place at 8:06 a.m. on Saturday.
Police say Underwood was traveling east on on Sandpit Road, approaching County Complex Road, when he hit Wisniewski. Underwood told police he couldn't see Wisniewski because of glare in his eyes from the sun.
Wisniewski was incapacitated by the accident with the most severe of his injuries to his head.
