(BEDFORD) - Two children were injured after a driver became distracted by a bee and collided into the rear of a vehicle Monday afternoon.
According to a Bedford Police report, police were alerted to the accident after one of the driver told police she had been involved in an accident and wasn't sure where but had exchanged information with the other driver and they left the scene. The woman told police she had two small children in the vehicle at the time of the accident and after leaving they began crying and she was afraid they may of suffered possible injuries.
Police contacted the other driver and both agreed the accident happened at the intersection of L and 14th streets.
44-year-old Candi Miller of Mitchell told police she became distracted after a bee landed on her leg and when she looked down to swat it off her leg she did not see a car had stopped in front of her. Miller also noted that she was "highly allergic" to bees.
Miller's 2003 Hyndai Elantra collided into the rear of the 2001 Mazda driven by 29-year-old Casey Albright of Springville.
Miller and Albright were not injured. But Albright's passengers, a 4-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy, complained of head pain following the incident.
