UPDATE: Third Suspect Arrested In Connection To Bloomington Murder

Last updated on Monday, August 29, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - After following numerous leads and assistance from other police departments, Bloomington Police arrested the third person involved in the shooting death of 26-year-old Brittany Sater.

According to Bloomington Police Capt. Steven Kellams, the third suspect in the murder was taken into custody this morning in Indianapolis.

Police arrested 21-year-old Dennis Webb of Indianapolis, who police believe shot Sater.

Earlier police arrested 42-year-old Billie Jean Edison without incident at her Greenwood home and 31-year-old Johnny Moore later at an apartment in Indianapolis.

"It is believed that Edison, Moore, and the third suspect(Webb) attempted to rob Brittany Sater and during the robbery Sater was shot," Kellams says. "The investigation is still ongoing."

Police were called to a home in the 2300 block of South Rogers Street at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, after a report a woman had been shot.

When police arrived they found Brittany Sater had suffered a gunshot to the chest. She was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital in critical condition. She died at 9:56 a.m.

Sater was able to tell emergency crews while being transported to the hospital that two people, a male and female who she knew, had entered her home and shot her with a shotgun.

Kellams says police believe the incident started over drugs.
