(BEDFORD) - Two driver's suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 50 near Dixie Highway Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened at 1:21 p.m.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 59-year-old Virginia Curtis, of Hardinsburg, was pulling out of Bedford Ford in her new 2015 Ford Focus when she pulled into the path of a 2012 Kia Soul driven by 58-year-old Kevin Middleton, of 829 Kings Ridge Rd.

Police say Middleton was traveling east on U.S. 50 East near the intersection of Dixie Highway when he noticed Curtis pulling out of the lot. Middleton attempted to change lanes to avoid the accident but was unable too.

Curtis told police she had just purchased the vehicle and was pulling out of the lot and didn't see Middleton's car.

Curtis suffered shoulder pain and Middleton complained of elbow pain.

Assisting at the scene was a Seals ambulance, Marion Volunteer Fire Department and the Bedford Fire Department extrication unit.
