Traffic Signals Being Installed On Ind. 67 In Morgan County

Last updated on Wednesday, August 31, 2016

(PARAGON) - Temporary traffic signals are being installed at culvert replacement sites on Ind. 67 near Paragon.

Work is expected to begin after Labor Day. The culvert project includes removing existing drainage structures and installing new ones at tributaries of Fall Creek and Burkhart Creek. Excavation and construction will be done one half at a time.

The signals at either end of the culverts will allow single-lane traffic flow to continue at both Ind. 67 project sites. Work at Fall Creek's tributary, located on the west side of Paragon, 9.62 miles north of U.S. 231, will begin first.

Indiana Department of Transportation officials anticipate the traffic signals there will be made operational Sept. 6.

The structure at Ind. 67's Burkhart Creek tributary, located 14 miles north of U.S. 231, will be installed later.

Construction is expected to continue for about 10 weeks at each site.
