Traditional American Music At McCormick's Creek State Park Saturday

(SPENCER) - Dance the night away during a family-friendly concert of traditional American music at McCormick’s Creek State Park, Aug. 20.

"Celebrating Community: A Traditional American Music and Dance Event" starts at 6 p.m. at the park amphitheater and is sponsored by Arts for Learning.

The performance will feature dancer and dance caller Tamara Loewenthal, Fiddle River String Band and Foot Squad. The evening will begin with a band performance featuring percussive dance and conclude with a family square dance for all ages and abilities.

Bench seating is available, but lawn chairs are also welcome.

The concert is a signature project of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission and is made possible, in part, with support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Standard entrance fees of $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle apply. For more information, call (812) 829-4344.
