Last updated on Wednesday, August 17, 2016

(COLUMBUS) - Three motorcyclists from Seymour were injured Friday when they were involved in a crash on State Road 46 about five miles west of Columbus.

According to a Bartholomew County Sheriff's report, 73-year-old Marcus Stockhover, 65-year-old Connie Stockhover, and 68-year-oldDaniel Lakins were all injured and taken to Columbus Regional Health for treatment.

According to police, when officers arrived on the scene they found a tricycle-style motorcycle sitting in the eastbound lane of State Road 58 at County Road 525 West, with both Stockhovers lying on the ground.

There was also a cruiser motorcycle lying on its side at the southeast corner of the intersection with Lakins sitting on the ground near the bike.

Police say 42-year-old Corrie McGuckin of Columbus and her husband, Daniel, were in their car stopped at the stop sign on County Road 525 West.

According to witnesses, the motorcycles were traveling east on State Road 46 with the Stockhovers in front. Marcus Stockhover, who was driving, slowed to turn southbound onto the county road.

When Lakins realized Marcus Stockhover was slowing down, he swerved to avoid a collision but struck the rear of Stockhover's motorcycle on the right side. That forced it off to the right, where it hit the front end of the McGuckin car.

The McGukins were not injured during the incident.
