(NASHVILLE) - Brown County welcomes the best in blues beginning tonight.
The 18th annual Bean Blossom Blues Fest, also known as the biggest jam fest in the Midwest, is this weekend at the Bill Monroe Music Park and Campground.
The one and only Bean Blossom Blues Fest will feature performances by well-known blues musicians, as well as around-the-clock jam sessions, all in a laid-back atmosphere perfect for blues fans and musicians alike.
Not your typical music festival, the "Bean," as it is so lovingly referred to, is a legendary blues bash. Enjoy three days of show-stopping performances, along with seminars, contests, camping, and more.
Kick off the festival the right way at 7 p.m. is the soulful sounds of Jeff Jensen, the Ghost Town Blues Band, and others. Be sure to bring along those instruments and join in the jamming action too.
The fun will continue on Friday, starting at 2 p.m. with a seminar, followed by the Harmonica Masters & Pros Showcase, all topped off with a night filled with some of the best blues you have ever heard! You'll be amazed at the talent of the Ghost Town Blues Band, Matt Tedder, Carolyn Wonderland, and Tad Robinson Band Chicago Blues Tribute with special guests Dave Specter and Deitra Farr.
Continue to be blown away by the "Bean" on Saturday. The fun will start at 1 p.m. with a harmonica seminar and the Indiana State Harmonica Championships. Saturday's blues blowout will follow beginning at 3:30 p.m. and will feature blues aces Jeff Jensen, Jack Broadbent, and Moreland & Arbuckle.
Saturday night's headliners will include Elvin Bishop and Victor Wainwright and the WildRoots. Entertaining people for over 50 years, Elvin Bishop and his legendary red guitar, still have what it takes to wow a crowd. Inducted into both the Blues Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Bishop instills his music with passion, creativity, wisdom, and wit.
2016 Blues Music Award winner and BB King Entertainer of the Year/ Band of the Year Victor Wainwright and the WildRoots also are slated to perform Saturday night. Wainwright and the WildRoots have struck the perfect piano/guitar balance, creating a sound that is all their own.
The Bean Blossom Blues Fest also will feature plenty of jamming to satisfy even the biggest blues lover, as well as onsite camping.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate, ranging from $20-$35 for single day adult admission to $50-$60 for an adult weekend pass. Youth tickets (ages 10-15) also are available at a discounted rate. Golf carts may be rented for the festival as well for $150.
