(BEDFORD) - A 15-year-old Mitchell boy was arrested after he strangled a 20-year-old woman, damaged a vehicle and ran from police.

Bedford Police officers were called to the 3100 block of Ted Jones Drive just after 7 a.m. Saturday after a person came to the police station to report their vehicle had been damaged.

When police arrived on the scene they found the teen. Police questioned the teen twice for his identity. The teen gave police false information and fled the scene.

Police caught the teen and had to forcibly restrain him. While he was being arrested they realized that the teen was intoxicated.

The teen was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Detention Center on charges of criminal mischief, strangulation, battery, two counts of resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, illegal consumption of alcohol and false reporting. He was taken to the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center.
