Last updated on Monday, August 22, 2016

(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville man was arrested after police say he was caught on video breaking into a home and stealing items.

Lawrence County Police arrested 22-year-old Carson Von Wahlde on charges of burglary and theft.

According to a Lawrence County Superior Court II probable cause affidavit, on August 3 a man who lives in the 200 block of Graves Addition Road called police to report a burglary. He told police someone entered his home through the garage and entered the basement. They took a compound bow case containing his bow, arrow and other hunting equipment in addition to his Milwaukee tool case and a Milwaukee cordless hammer drill, batteries and chargers.

Police recovered the bow and hunting equipment at TomCat's Pawn Shop with a receipt where Von Wahlde pawned the items.

On August 10, a witness who saw the man walking on Graves Addition Road gave police video footage of the man walking along the road at 3 a.m. carrying items.

On August 16, Von Wahlde's relative went to the police department to file an unrelated report and were able to identify Von Wahlde in the video footage from both the pawn shop and the one provided by a witness as the man with the stolen items.
