Last updated on Monday, August 1, 2016

(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville man was arrested after he allegedly attacked his brother with a weedeater.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branhan, officers were called to a home in the 400 block of Reuter Lane at 3:09 p.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived the 66-year-old victim told police he went outside after hearing someone using a grass trimmer.

"He went outside with a camera to record his brother Raymond Blake cutting grass on the victim's property," Branham says.

That is when Blake lifted the weedeater causing suffered lacerations to his brother's left hand and wrist and damaging the camera.

"The investigation revealed that the alleged battery occurred as a result of an ongoing property line dispute between neighboring brothers," Branham added.

Police arrested 62-year-old Raymond Blake on charges of domestic battery and criminal mischief.
