Spring Mill State Park Hosts Pioneer Heritage Days This Weekend

(MITCHELL) - Experience 19th century life at Spring Mill State Park’s Pioneer Heritage Days, Aug, 6-7. 

Visitors can watch pioneer re-enactors weave, quilt, spin wool, blacksmith, make brooms and more. 

Hands-on programs with park staff and volunteers also will be available. Program times will be posted at the park office and grist mill. 

On Aug. 7, the park will host its annual quilt show from noon to 4 p.m. in the Pioneer Village. Quilters who would like to work on a project in the Pioneer Village during the show or who have a traditional quilt to display should contact Coletta Prewitt at (812) 849-3534 or springmillstatepark@dnr.IN.gov.
