(MARTINSVILLE) - A Martinsville man was arrested after a girl told police he touched her in an inappropriate way.
Martinsville Police arrested 19-year-old Austin J. Dixon on charges of fondling or touching a child younger than 14, a Level 4 felony, and battery, a Class B misdemeanor.
According to the probable-cause affidavit, the girl, who is not related to Dixon, told police Dixon "rubbed" her breast and buttocks while she was asleep.
A detective interviewed Dixon, who said he had spent the night with his girlfriend and they were cuddling when they fell asleep and that the girl must have climbed into bed with them while they were sleeping. Dixon told police the girl had been asleep on a couch when he and his girlfriend fell asleep.
He told police he thought the dogs had climbed into bed with them and not the girl.
His case is pending in Morgan County Circuit Court.
