Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle, Police Seeking Information

(DUBOIS) - A man was struck by a vehicle in the 9900 block of Hickory Grove Road north of the Dubois Crossroads just south of the Dubois/Martin County line late Saturday evening.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene and the Dubois County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the vehicle or driver involved.

Police were called to the accident scene at 11:45 p.m.. When deputies arrived they learned a man had been struck by a vehicle and it then fled northbound on Hickory Grove Road.

The man, who was not immediately available, was taken to Memorial Hospital by ambulance and then transferred to another hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The Dubois County Sheriff's Department is asking that anyone with information about the accident contact the sheriff's department at 812-482-3522. Callers can remain anonymous and are directed to ask for Deputy Mike Hanselman.

Martin County Sheriff's Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and Dubois County Fire Department first responders assisted at the scene.
