(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman was injured after she crashed her car into a tree on Sunday.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 21-year-old Keely Keefe suffered pain to her head, left arm and ribs.
She was taken by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
According to police, Keefe was traveling south on Rabbitsville Road, north of Jane Lane at 5:26 p.m. when she approached a pickup truck traveling on the wrong side of the road. Keefe says she swerved her 2003 Dodge Stratus to avoid a collision, over corrected and drove off the west side of the road and struck a tree.
Police say there were fresh tire marks on the northbound lane of Rabbitsville Road believed to have been left by the pickup.
