Last updated on Tuesday, August 23, 2016

(WILLIAMS) - A Fishers man was injured Sunday morning after crashing his motorcycle on State Road 450 West.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 45-year-old Matt Johnson was traveling west on State Road 450 West, near Goose Lane when he exited a curve and another motorcycle driver tried to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone.

At the same time, 46-year-old Anna Farhar of Shoals was traveling east on State Road 450 when she saw the two vehicle in the eastbound lane. Farhar told police she didn't think Johnson could go back into the westbound lane and attempted to avoid the 2005 Yamaha motorcycle but couldn't because there was a utility pole and embankment to the right of the roadway.

Johnson tried to apply his brakes in time to avoid a collision, but the motorcycle crashed into the car.

Johnson was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered injuries to his head, neck, shoulder and multiple abrasions from road rash.

Johnson was transported by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
