Man Arrested After Threatening To Skin Security Guard, Children

Last updated on Friday, August 26, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after he threatened to skin a female security guard at the Monroe County Public Library.

Police were called to the Monroe County Public Library by security officials Tuesday around 2:40 p.m. for a disturbance.

According to security, two men got into a fight and when a security guard asked one man to leave, he became very upset, threw his backpack down, and started lunging at her.

The man told the woman he was going to skin her and children. He also made threats about assaulting the woman.

At that time, another employee came out to assist the security guard, and eventually the man causing the problems left the premises.

The security guard described the man to police and told them she wanted to pursue charges.

After hearing a description of the man, police knew they were looking for Chase Williams because he had made threats in the past about skinning people.

While police were speaking to the guard, they received a call about a man who they believed was Williams screaming and cursing near the Wonderlab.

When police arrived at the Wonderlab on 4th Street, they found Williams.

The security guard identified the man at the Wonderlab to be the same man who threatened her at the library.

Williams was arrested on a felony charge of intimidation. While being booked into jail, officers say Williams continued to make comments about "skinning people."
