(CRANE) - A select group of Indiana’s best and brightest college students were honored at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) when the Southern Indiana Section of American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE), Blacks in Government (BIG), the Association of Old Crows (AOC) and the Hoosier Hills Chapter of Federally Employed Women (FEW) hosted a joint scholarship luncheon at Club Lakeview on July 26.

The luncheon honored 14 students who represent the values and missions of each organization, with scholarships totaling $20,200. Those in attendance included scholarship winners, their families and several NSWC Crane employees.

As the employer of a diverse and nationally recognized workforce of engineers and technical professionals, NSWC Crane strongly supports the organizations and their efforts to promote education through scholarship.

The Southern Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE-SI), whose purpose is to advance the knowledge and practice of naval engineering and to promote naval engineering as a career field, awarded five scholarships.
