(UNDATED) - Despite a three-month statewide trend showing improvement in Hoosiers' employment, Greene County still has the highest unemployment rate in Indiana for the second consecutive month.

Greene County's joblessness rate increased from 6.6 percent in July 2015 to 6.8 percent last month

According to Indiana Department of Workforce Development's July unemployment report, Lawrence County slid a few spots in the state's rankings, winding up seventh-worst for unemployment. Despite ranking, Lawrence County improved its unemployment rate in July to 5.7 percent over last year's 6.3 percent.

Of Indiana's 92 counties, Monroe County showed some minor gains but still found itself 15th-worst. Bloomington saw an increase in employment this July. In 2015, the jobless rate was 6.1 percent, while it was 5.7 percent this year.

Dubois County reported the lowest unemployment rate in the state, at 3.1 percent.
