(BLOOMINGTON) - A fire in a basement Saturday damaged a Bloomington home.
Bloomington Firefighters were called to the 4000 block of East Penn Court in the Park Ridge neighborhood on the city's east side at 1:20 p.m.
A smoke detector alerted homeowners to a fire in their basement allowing them to get to safety.
When firefighters arrived there was smoke coming out the front door. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the basement area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
