Brazil Man In Critical Condition After Motorcycle Crash

(HELTONVILLE) - A Brazil man is in critical condition after he suffered multiple fractures to his left arm, a possible punctured lung and a deep, severe laceration to his right thigh.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 23-year-old Nathaniel Duregger, was traveling west on U.S.50 East near Back Creek Road Friday at 9:54 p.m. when he lost control of his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling around an up hill curve.

The motorcycle went off the right side of the road and hit a guard rail causing Duregger to be thrown from the bike, hit the guard rail and travel 133 feet. landing on the opposite side of the guard rail.

The bike continued to slide stopping 122 feet from the point of impact.

Duregger was wearing a helmet.

He was treated at the scene by a Seals abulance crew and first responders from Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Department and then flown to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis.
