(GOSHEN) - The Bedford 14U Little League All-Stars won their second consecutive Junior League Indiana State Tournament championship Sunday.

District 12 champion Bedford, which dropped a practice game to Jeffersonville on Wednesday, brought home a win at to defeat the District 5 champs twice, 17-7, Saturday, and then 17-1 Sunday afternoon in the title game.

Those two victories lead to a 16-1 win, defeating Wabash in the semifinals Sunday morning.

Bedford manager Shawn Nikirk is especially proud of his team.

Zane Harrison led off with a single line drive with Dalton Nikirk's sacrifice to move Harrison into scoring position. Garrett Watson followed with a two-run home run. Following a double by Avery Brand and a single by Trey Mollet, Dayson Wright unloaded with a three-run hit making the score 5-0.

Jeffersonville could not handle the All-Stars.

Watson went the (five-inning) distance and surrendered just five hits and struck out five, while also supplying three hits at the plate.

Teammate Harrison went 5 for 5, while Brand had three hits, and Mollet and Skylar Bates had two hits apiece. Nikirk, Ethan Baer, Hunter Myers and Colby Graves each added a hit.

The team will travels to Fort Wayne for the Central Region Tournament starting Saturday, and a title there would send the team to the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Mi.
