(WORTHINGTON) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV crash that injured a Bloomfield woman and landed the driver of the vehicle in jail.

The accident was reported at 11:19 p.m. Saturday after the driver called 911.

Police say 34-year-old Alicia Nelson suffered blunt force trauma to her face, lacerations and possible internal injuries after the ATV rolled backward while climbing a steep embankment in a wooded area behind a home in the 4440 block of West County Road 550 North. She was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment. There is no update on her condition.

Nelson was a passenger on a 2003 Polaris 4-wheeler driven by 31-year-old Jarred Conolty of Bloomfield.

Officers who responded say they smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Conolty. He was later arrested on a preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and taken to the Greene County Jail.
