Last updated on Thursday, July 7, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - Two men arrested in connection with a June robbery now face charges in a May home invasion robbery.

Monroe County deputies arrested 39-year-old Charles Hatton Jr. of BLoomington and 18-year-old Ethon Sparks of Spencer on June 23, after a robbery in the 7500 block of West Eller Road.

Both are facing charges of robbery, intimidation and carrying handguns without permits and have been at the Monroe County Jail since their arrests.

Now the men are facing charges of robbery, burglary, theft and carrying handguns without permits in a May 18 case.

Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams say the men match the description of the two men that forced their way into an 18-year-old man's apartment in the 800 block of Greenleaf Court and demanded money, marijuana. The men stole a cell phone.

During the robbery the man was struck in the head and a woman at the apartment had her hair pulled.

When questioned about the Greenleaf Court robbery, Sparks admitted to the crime and implicated Hatton.
