Two Arrested After Physical Domestic Fight

(OOLITIC) - An Oolitic man and woman were arrested Friday morning after they were involved in a physical domestic fight.

Police arrested 25-year-old Bailey Sims and 22-year-old Daniel Blackwell on charges domestic battery in the presence of a minor.

The two live together. There also were two 3-year-old present during the dispute.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, officers went to the house after Sims placed a 911 call at 11:11 a.m. reporting the domestic dispute.

Police spoke to both, and they both accused each other of starting the physical altercation.

Sims claimed Blackwell had put her in a headlock, grabbed her wrists and twisted them and pinned her to the floor.

Police say she suffered bruising to her upper left arm.

Blackwell told police that Sims slapped him and bit him on the left shoulder. He had visible bite marks on his shoulder.

The Department of Child Services was contacted, and the girls were taken to a relative.
