Last updated on Thursday, July 28, 2016

(MONTGOMERY) - The Barr-Reeve School Board announced longtime elementary teacher Tenley Lester is the new K-12 curriculum director and elementary assistant principal.

Lester, a Barr-Reeve graduate, has been teaching at her alma mater since 2003 and earned a bachelor's in elementary education from the University of Southern Indiana in 2003 and her masters from the Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois in 2006.

Lester will fill the position that was vacated earlier this month by Andrea Huff. Huff is now the principal at Loogootee High School.

The board also approved the resignation of Josh Schultheis, who had been an English and language arts teacher at the high school for three years.

Schultheis has taken a position at Brownsburg where he will also do some coaching.

He will be replaced by Jessica (Miller) Guinn who taught at Washington High School the last two school years.

Students will return to the classroom on Aug. 9 but registration through Harmony is already underway for those who do not want to make a trip to school on Aug. 3 and 4.

A Meet Your Teacher Night for primary and elementary students will also be held Aug. 4 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

A Chromebook meeting for junior high and high school students will take place following the elementary meet and greet.
