(OOLITIC) - An Oolitic man was arrested Sunday on charges of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, domestic battery and criminal confinement after his wife accused him of pushing her down multiple times and breaking her collarbone.

According to a Lawrence County Superior Court II probable cause affidavit, police arrested 35-year-old Nathan Heckard after they were called to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital's emergency room after a woman reported that she had been injured by her husband.

The woman told Oolitic Police Department officer B.J. McDowell that she and Heckard had been in an argument when he threw her to the ground twice. She then tried to leave, but he wouldn't let her have her phone.

The woman told police that she ran to the back door, but Heckard allegedly stepped in front of her and pushed her down again.

The emergency room doctor confirmed the woman suffered a broken collarbone during the altercation..

McDowell later located Heckard around 3:17 a.m. and arrested him.
