Missing Horseman Arrested After Domestic Fight

(BROWN CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers were called to Brown County State Park to search for a missing horseman in the early morning hours Sunday.

The missing horseman was found at approximately 1 p.m. Sunday and was arrested for domestic battery.

Police say 41-year-old Damion Brown, and 34-year-old Crystal Brown, both of Brazil.were staying in the Horseman's Campground at Brown County State Park for the holiday weekend.

A third camper joined them for a ride to the Story Inn that evening. After a night of consuming alcohol, Damion Brown fell from his horse on the return trip to the campground.

A verbal and physical altercation occurred between Damion and Crystal Brown when she attempted to provide him assistance.

Crystal Brown and the other camper rode back to the campground leading Damion's horse.

Conservation Officers and park personnel began a search for Damion Brown at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday morning utilizing all terrain vehicles and a K-9 resource protection dog.

At daylight, members of the Johnson County Mounted Sheriff's reserves began assisting in the search.

The search concluded at approximately 1 p.m. Damion was found walking the trails by other horse riders.

Based on statements obtained from Crystal and the other horse rider, Damion Brown was arrested and booked into the Brown County Jail on a charge of domestic battery.

Both he and Crystal Brown were ejected from Brown County State Park.

Assisting agencies included Brown County Sheriff Department and local EMS. The investigation is being led by Indiana Conservation Officer Brent Bohbrink.
