(BEDFORD) - Jeff Quyle was appointed chief executive officer for Radius Indiana.

Quyle, the former president and chief operating officer since January, is part of a succession plan put in place earlier this year by then CEO Becky Skillman and the Radius Indiana Board of Directors, according to a news release.

Former Lt. Gov. Skillman, who has led the organization since 2013, will serve as a senior advisor and will work with the Board of Directors along with staff to continue key economic and community development efforts for the region.

"Quyle leads Radius Indiana on major initiatives, as directed by Board of Directors, and provides strategic oversight and direction for business development including defense industry, manufacturing, workforce, education and tourism activities of the organization," the release states. "In promoting Radius Indiana's economic development, he also will work to enhance relationships with key business, community and government leaders at the regional, state, national and international level."

Before working with Radius, Quyle served as the Economic Development Coordinator for Hoosier Energy and has more than 25 years of experience working for rural electric cooperatives in Indiana. He is an appointee (since 2010) to the Indiana General Assembly's Interim Study Committee on Economic Development Incentives, a former member of the Morgan County Board of Commissioners, a former appointee to the Indiana Air Pollution Control Board, a past president of the Association of Indiana Counties and a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau Property Tax Task Force.

"Under Becky's leadership we've have seen the relevance of the Radius region grow immensely, and we are extremely fortunate to have her continue as a key member of our team," Quyle said in a prepared statement.

"Her unwavering commitment to our region is evident in the organization's accomplishments in economic development and business growth. She has strengthened relationships with our stakeholders, business leaders and community members, and made Radius Indiana a major contributor to regional and state economic efforts."

In addition to her work with Radius, Skillman continues to serve as co-chair of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission, lead director of the Old National Bank Corporate Board and advisor for the Bowen Center for Public Affairs at Ball State University.
