State Police Looking For Man Who Robbed Farmersburg Bank

(FARMERSBURG) - Indiana State Police looking for a man who robbed the 1st Farmers Bank and Truck in Farmersburg Thursday morning.

Thursday morning at 10:38, Sullivan County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from the staff at the bank located at 11612 North US 41 in Farmersburg, reporting a bank robbery.

When Indiana State Police arrived the man had fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

The male suspect is believed to be in his 50s, medium build, 5-8 to 5-10, clean shaven, wearing dark glasses, dark ball cap, blue shirt and blue pants. He fled on foot from the bank in an unknown direction.

Detectives say the man entered the front door of the bank, walked up to a female teller and handed her a note demanding money. In doing so, the man displayed a silver handgun of some type. No other customers were inside the bank at the time.

During the investigation, officers were able to determine the man was in a late model four-door Nissan or Hyundai with possible minor driver's side front damage. He was assisted by a blonde female accomplice.

The case is being investigated by ISP Detective Angie Hahn. Assisting were ISP Crime Scene Investigator Sergeant Brandon Mullen, ISP Sergeants Joe Rutledge and Joe Watts, Sullivan County Sheriff's Lieutenant Bill Snead, Sullivan Police Department, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
