Last updated on Friday, July 29, 2016

(BEDFORD) - A Heltonville man was arrested after he entered a woman’s home and threatened her.

Lawrence County police arrested 54-year-old William Howe on charges of residential entry and intimidation Sunday morning.

According to a Lawrence County Superior Court II probable cause affidavit, officers were called to a home on Knob Creek Road after a woman called saying Howe would not leave.

When police arrived they found Howe standing in the driveway of the home.

The woman told police that Howe was a relative but was not welcome at the home.

The woman told police that Howe had showed up around 7 a.m. and she asked him to leave. He refused and opened the door and went inside. She told him she was going to call police and that is when Howe allegedly threatened to "bust" her head with a baseball bat.

Howe was repeatedly told to leave but refused. After an hour he left the home, crossing the road and sitting in a chair in the neighbor's yard.

The then returned to the home and threatened her again.

The woman's husband confirmed his wife's story.

While being transported to jail, Howe allegedly told the officer he should have beat the man who lived at the house and should have killed the man's wife.
