(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that was reported Friday night.
Police received a call at 7:43 p.m. from a woman who says her 76-year-old grandmother was sexually assaulted. She told police on Wednesday that when she visited her grandmother at a home on the city's south side, she found her lying in her own excrement with what looked like semen on her clothes.
According to the Bloomington police report, the grandmother possibly suffers from dementia and was staying with a man and a woman who take care of her. Both told police they did not know of any incident of sexual assault.
Police collected evidence at the residence and are continuing their investigation.
