(ELLETTSVILLE) - A Bloomington woman convicted of neglect in the 2012 death of a toddler was arrested in Ellettsville after being accused of holding a woman and her infant hostage inside an apartment.

Ellettsville Police arrested 24-year-old Dominique Sha Nese Irby Saturday on a charge of criminal confinement. She was also wanted on a warrant for violationg her probation involving the death of 2-year-old I'Nere Wallace.

Irby is being held at the Monroe County Jail without bond.

The child died four years ago at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis from head injuries.

Tameria Kline of Bloomington, received a six-year jail sentence and Irby got eight years; both pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent resulting in injury, reduced from neglect resulting in death, and served about half of their time under the state good-time credit statute.

Irby was released from prison December 27, according to Department of Correction records.

According to a news release, a woman from Illinois called Ellettsville Police at 10:30 a.m. Saturday saying had received a text message from her sister Ura Williams saying that her and her baby daughter were being held against their will inside her apartment on Raubs Lane by Irby.

When police arrived at the apartment, no one would answered the door; nor did anyone answer the Williams' cellphone.

Officers then heard noises inside and forced the door open. Inside they found Irby, Williams and her baby.

Williams told police Irby had showed up at her apartment on Wednesday and had been holding her and her baby against their will since then.

Irby would not let Williams open the door, make any noise or use her phone. But on Saturday, she was able to send her sister a text asking her to contact the police.
